Venom 3: Is Amazing Spider-Man Star Cast as Knull in The Last Dance?

Theories range over Rhys Ifans' role after Venom: The Last Dance's final trailer. The actor, who played Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man, is heading back to the Spidey universe — although details on his character are being kept under wraps.

Some suspect Ifans could return as The Lizard since the character was where he settled in with the franchise. That said, Spider-Man's apparent absence from the Venom concoction and its separation from cinematic universes leave a question mark over this theory.

The slightly more plausible of these is Ifans playing Knull, the Symbiote god and should be appearing as one of many potential antagonists in Venom 3. One shot reveals a long-haired, Ifans-like character looking like Knull out of the comics. This could potentially be a wink to Ifans' prior role in Spider-Man, akin to how DC shows such as Smallville and Arrow have employed legacy actors. Theoretically, it would include a totally new role for Ifans to portray and generously space him within the series.

There is a possibility, though, that Ifans could be playing an all-new character not tied to any previously created Marvel comic figure. And the new trailer for Venom: The Last Dance has only caused more questions than answers to stir up in fans' minds.

Thankfully, the wait to find out who Rhys Ifans is playing is almost over as well since "Anonymous" opens on October 25th. Of course, that's just a fan theory — until then, speculation will run wild.
