Chad McQueen, ‘Karate Kid’ Dutch Actor and Steve McQueen’s Son, Dies at 63

Chad McQueen — the son of Hollywood legend Steve McQueen and famous for portraying the mean contest winner Dutch in two Karate Kid movies — has died. Chad passed away in a hospice last week due to organ failure, and his pal Arthur Barens told The Hollywood Reporter that he was not able to fully heal following the incident at his ranch in Palm Desert last year.

Chad's death was announced in an Instagram post by his children Chase and Madison. They shared a heartfelt message, saying, "His wonderful life as a devoted husband to us and our mother with whom he reunited in joyous acts of love for the past few hours." They added, "His driving passion not only revealed his performance capability but also made him follow in the footsteps of these qualities when he drove to honor his father's legacy." They continued, "He gave us his passion, knowledge, and dedication to the cause, and we will carry on not only for him but our grandfather as well."

"Together, as a family, we ask for respect and privacy during this time so that you may celebrate what he meant to all of you," the message concluded.

Aside from playing Dutch, McQueen was also featured in several other films, including Skateboard, Martial Law, New York Cop, Death Ring, and Red Line. Although the current Cobra Kai TV show discusses what happened to his character, he does not make an appearance.
