Microsoft Hosts Cybersecurity Summit After Global IT Outage

Microsoft organized their software and the take of one major global IT outage.

The IT giant headed a grandstanding conference designed, in part, to boost cyber protection efforts on Tuesday after July's worldwide freeze was caused by rogue-a-go-gogo software 'upgrade' with an eye towards CrowdStrike.
The conference was Microsoft's first real step to prevent a repeat of the incidents that caused issues for more than 8.5 million Windows devices on July 19. This event affected business operations across major airlines, banks, and healthcare providers using this technology.
It was at Microsoft's Redmond, Washington HQ.
The aftermath of that July outage raised fears that too many businesses would be unable to activate effective continuing operation plans if a single point of failure – for example, an IT system or piece of software within — happened.
Analysts said the outage was a testament to the risk of leaning on a single supplier for end-to-end security offerings.
The Windows security ecosystem needs to find strength in unity and focus on diagnosing the health of our world collectively, across multiple sectors," stated Microsoft's David Weston during a conference call -- as covered by X.
On Friday, Delta Air Lines (DAL. N) said it was suing Microsoft and CrowdStrike after a massive disruption that forced the U.S. carrier to cancel hundreds of flights over the Christmas holidays, with costs running into at least $500 million, opening a new tab.
