Benzema Responds to Ronaldo’s 'Best' Claim About Mbappe

Karim Benzema has shown off his 2022 Ballon d'Or trophy after Cristiano Ronaldo snubbed him while selecting "best player" as Kylian Mbappe. The Portuguese star selected the young talent over Benzema in a video posted on Rio Ferdinand's YouTube channel last week.

For those who do not know, Ronaldo won four Champions League titles with the French footballer during their time together at Real Madrid. Mbappe, 25, played with him not long ago…

On Wednesday, Benzema shared a picture of his Ballon d'Or on Instagram Stories, which could have been viewed as an indirect reaction to Ronaldo's comments. The 40-year-old opened up on his love for football in a conversation with Sony Sports Network recently.

He added: "I've felt that pressure since I was eight years old when I first started playing at a professional club. That had turned into ambition over time. I'm not looking at it as pressure next season; I look at it as ambition. This attitude is what makes me do well (…) with the help of my teammates because football is a collective sport,” said Benzema. Fans always expect more. But of course, if you support, it's understandable that you want your team to win and play well, so he'll get frustrated at times.

The picture has sparked suggestions of a potential fallout between him and Mbappe.
