Following the sinking of his boat in Sicily, software tycoon Mike Lynch is still missing

After Mike Lynch, also known as the Bill Gates of Britain, and his daughter Hannah Lynch, 18, vanished on a yacht that sank in a Sicilian tornado along with four other people, a frantic search is under way for the missing individuals.

Four people are still missing, while one person—believed to be the Canadian chef on board—has been confirmed deceased, according to the Italian daily la Repubblica.

The body of Recaldo Thomas, a Canadian citizen living in Antigua, has been found, according to the Palermo Port Authority.

There were 22 persons on board the British boat Bayesian when it sank off the coast of Palermo at around five in the morning local time. Of them, 10 were crew members and 12 were tourists.

Being at the wrong place at the wrong moment was how Sicily's civil protection agency's Salvo Cocina put the tragic event.

Additionally, he verified that notable figures such as Chris Morvillo, an attorney at Clifford Chance, and Jonathan Bloomer, head of Morgan Stanley International, were unaccounted for.

Mike Lynch's daughter Hannah has also not been located as of yet, however her mother Angela Bacares was one of the fifteen people who were saved.

Furthermore, Charlotte Golunski, a mother who managed to keep her one-year-old child afloat amidst the turmoil, described the experience, stating, "It was all dark." I was unable to keep my eyes open in the water."

"I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others," she continued.
