UK PM Keir Starmer Heads to U.S. for Key Talks with Biden

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is all set to travel to the United States for the second time, and this is his second official visit to the U.S.

Sky News has been disseminating information to the effect that United Kingdom's prime minister will be welcomed by Biden at the White House on September 13, 2019, during the bilateral meeting.

The dignitaries announced that in the second meeting of the year where most probably today, the two heads of state will meet and discuss the ‘global issues of mutual interest’ that alluded in their previous meetings.

White House statement read, “The leaders will engage in detailed discussions including, but not limited to internal and external assistance to Ukraine in light of its combat with Russian forces, achieving the stable return of hostages and a halt to armed actions in Gaza, ensuring friendly shipping in the Sea Red from Iranian-Houthi aggression, and promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region.”

It went on to say, “They will also touch on ways in which the US-UK relationship can be further enhanced in the context of supply chain assurance and enhancing climate adaptation.”

In addition, Biden will tell Starmer that it is important "to keep reaching out in order o continue developing the special relationship between the US and the UK."

There has been a very good collaboration between Britain and the US in handling the Ukraine crisis and also curbing houthi threats towards shipping activities in the red Sea.

Starmer’s maiden July 2021 visit to the United States took place during a time when Biden was in Washington for the NATO Summit.
