Revealed: Microsoft’s Ambitious AI Investment Strategy

The local Industry computer giant Microsoft has announced that it intends to invest over $1.3 billion in the next three years in the formation of structures in Mexico for cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

On Tuesday, Microsoft’s Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said at an event in Mexico City, “We’re doubling down on bringing more capacity to Mexico.”

According to the statement, the biggest investment plan involves enhancing the link and increasing the adoption of AI technology in SMBs.

The statement implied that the new plan would help reach more than 5 million Mexicans and 30,000 SMBs within three years.

Before this initiative, many Mexican firms, such as bread maker Bimbo and cement producer Cemex, benefitted from Microsoft’s AI tools.

According to Microsoft’s statement, it will partner with communications company Viasat to bring the internet to over 150,000 Mexicans without prior cellular access by 2025.

Outgoing Economy Minister Ildefonso Guajardo also told X that Nadella assured him that the planned investment will allow Mexico to rapidly advance its AI capabilities.
